Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 40 ILCS 5/18-123.2
- Surviving spouse: means "widow" or "widower" as the case may be. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.32
All provisions of this Article relating to annuities and benefits to a surviving spouse, minor children or other survivors of participants shall apply with equal force to male and female participants without any distinction whatsoever.
