Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 40 ILCS 5/21-102.16
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
“Fireman” means any member of a regularly constituted fire department of a municipality as defined in Section 4-103 of this Code, or of a city subject to Article 6 of this Code, whether paid on a full time, part time or per-call basis; or any member occupying a classified position as a fire fighter in the fire protection service of a State department.
