Under the Illinois Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:Class | Prison | Fine |

Class B misdemeanor | up to 6 months | up to $1,500 |
Class C misdemeanor | up to 30 days | up to $1,500 |
Any person who fails to comply with the requirements of or violates any of the provisions of Section 6 of this Act or the rules and regulations promulgated pursuant to those Sections or who fails to comply with the requirements of or violates any of the provisions of an ordinance or regulation adopted by a unit of local government pursuant to Section 5.11 shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor for the first offense or a Class B misdemeanor for second and subsequent offenses.
