Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 55 ILCS 120/1

  • County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     The county board of every county may, by order or resolution authorize and direct to be transferred to the Lincoln Presidential Library, the State Archives or to the State University Library at Urbana, Illinois, or to any historical society duly incorporated and located within the county, such official papers, drawings, maps, writings and records of every description as may be deemed of historic interest or value, and as may be in the custody of any officer of such county. Accurate copies of the same when so transferred shall be substituted for the original when in the judgment of such county board the same may be deemed necessary.
