Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 55 ILCS 5/1-5009

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10
     All cases of contest arising upon said petitions or affidavit shall have precedence over all other cases during September in such court, and shall be heard and determined before the expiration of said month if possible.
