Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 55 ILCS 5/3-3002
- County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
- Month: means a calendar month, and the word "year" a calendar year unless otherwise expressed; and the word "year" alone, is equivalent to the expression "year of our Lord. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.10

The coroner shall enter upon the duties of his office on the first day of the month of December following his election on which the coroner’s office is required, by statute or by action of the county board, to be open.
