The electors of any county which shall have adopted this Act as provided by Section 6 thereof, may abandon and repeal this Act in the following manner: Whenever the legal voters of such county, to the number of 25% of the votes cast at the last general election in such county, or 1,000 legal voters of such county, whichever is less, shall petition the circuit court not less than 30 days before any regular election to submit the proposition whether or not the electors of such county shall abandon this Act, it shall be the duty of the court to certify the proposition to the proper election officials, who shall submit such proposition to the voters at an election in accordance with the general election law. The proposition so to be voted for shall be in substantially the following form:

To abandon an Act to authorize
county authorities to establish
and maintain a detention home for
delinquent minors and a shelter care YES
home for minors who are delinquent,
neglected, addicted, abused, dependent
or require authoritative intervention ——————-
and to discontinue the levy and
collection of a tax of not exceeding
.10 per cent of the value, as equalized NO
or assessed by the Department of Revenue,
to pay the cost of establishment and
maintenance.

If a majority of the votes cast for and against such proposition shall be for such proposition to abandon this Act, the Act shall be deemed abandoned and the court shall enter of record an order declaring this Act abandoned in such county.
