- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
Any State agency with a rule that contains a reference to a mentally retarded person or similar reference shall amend the text of the rule to contain a reference to a person with an intellectual disability. Any State agency with a rule that contains the term “mental retardation” shall amend the text of the rule to substitute the term “intellectual disability” for “mental retardation”, and shall make any other changes that may be necessary to conform to the changes made by this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly.
