Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 543/15-20
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The exclusive, partial, and proprietorial jurisdiction hereby retroceded and the concurrent jurisdiction hereby ceded with the State of Illinois shall continue no longer than the United States of America owns the land described in Section 15-5.
