Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 60 ILCS 1/100-10.5

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Municipalities: has the meaning established in Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.27
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
     In a township that does not have a township enforcement officer appointed under Section 100-10, and the township board has contracted with the county sheriff or one or more municipalities to furnish police protection in an unincorporated area of the township as provided in Sections 30-150, 30-155, and 30-160, the county sheriff or a peace officer of the municipal police department of a municipality that has entered into the contract with the township board has the power to issue summons for violations of township ordinances in the same manner as a township enforcement officer under subsection (d-5) of Section 100-10.
