- Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
The township board may require any account presented to be verified by an affidavit setting forth that the account is correct and reasonable and is unpaid (or, if any part of the account has been paid, setting forth the amount that has been paid).
