- County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
The term of office of each Superintendent shall be six years and until his successor is duly appointed and qualified. He shall receive a salary in a sum to be fixed by the county board and shall also be allowed actual traveling and other expenses incurred in the discharge of the duties of his office. His salary and expenses shall be payable out of the general or Airport Fund of the county.
