- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Through March 31, 1996, an apportionable semitrailer is a semitrailer that is paying annual fees to a foreign jurisdiction under the provisions of the International Registration Plan. Beginning April 1, 1996, an apportionable semitrailer is a semitrailer used in interstate commerce and registered with an apportioned power fleet.
