- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
Nothing in this Code shall be construed to repeal any section of the various laws of which this Code is comprised when such section is the subject of an amendment enacted by the Seventy-Second General Assembly and which becomes law. Furthermore, it is the intent of the General Assembly that the corresponding section of this Code shall be construed with such amended section so as to give effect to such amendment as if it was made a part of this Code.
