Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 65 ILCS 5/8-3-11

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
  • Municipalities: has the meaning established in Section 1 of Article VII of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.27
     No municipality shall receive from the county treasury any greater drawback of its proportion of the taxes paid into the county treasury of the county, in which it is situated in whole or in part, by reason of any appropriation by the county board, for the purpose of making and repairing roads and highways, or building and repairing bridges, situated in the county but outside the corporate limits of the municipality than is allowed by law to all other municipalities situated in whole or in part in that county.
