Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 705 ILCS 75/5

  • Reporter: Makes a record of court proceedings and prepares a transcript, and also publishes the court's opinions or decisions (in the courts of appeals).
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
  • Transcript: A written, word-for-word record of what was said, either in a proceeding such as a trial or during some other conversation, as in a transcript of a hearing or oral deposition.
     Where the court has authorized a person other than the official reporter who took the stenographic notes to transcribe the same the person making and filing or furnishing such transcript (and a copy or copies when authorized by statute or Illinois Supreme Court Rule) shall be entitled to the fee.
