Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 1205/5-5

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Heretofore: means any time previous to the day on which the statute takes effect; and the word "hereafter" at any time after such day. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.17
     Any tax authorized by referendum by any park district prior to the enactment of this amendment shall not be affected or abrogated hereby, and the district may continue to levy and collect the same as heretofore.
