Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 1807/55
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The district has power to apply for and accept grants, loans, or appropriations from the federal government or any agency or instrumentality thereof or the State of Illinois or any agency or instrumentality thereof to be used for any of the purposes of the district and to enter into any agreement with the federal government, the State of Illinois, or any agency or instrumentality thereof in relation to the grants, loans, or appropriations.
