Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 1830/1.1
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
The General Assembly declares that the main purpose of this Act is to promote industrial, commercial, transportation, homeland security, recreation, water supply, flood control, and economic activities thereby reducing the evils attendant upon unemployment and enhancing the public health, safety, and welfare of this State.
