- Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
- Board: means the governing and administrative body of the Jasper County Civic Center Authority. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/115-5
- County board: means the board of county commissioners in counties not under township organization, and the board of supervisors in counties under township organization, and the board of commissioners of Cook County. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.07
Within 60 days after September 3, 1985 (the effective date of Article 4 of Public Act 84-245), the chairman of the county board of Jasper County, with the advice and consent of the county board of Jasper County shall appoint 3 members of the Board for initial terms expiring July 1, 1986; 3 members for initial terms expiring July 1, 1987; and 3 members for initial terms expiring July 1, 1988. The successors of the initial members shall be appointed in like manner for 3 year terms from the date of appointment, except in case of an appointment to fill a vacancy.
