- Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
- Board: means the governing and administrative body of the Normal Civic Center Authority. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 200/180-5
Within 60 days after September 3, 1985 (the effective date of Article 2 of Public Act 84-245), the Mayor of the City of Normal with the advice and consent of the Normal City Council shall appoint 3 members of the Board for initial terms expiring June 1, 1986; 3 members for initial terms expiring June 1, 1987; and 3 members for initial terms expiring June 1, 1988. The successors of the initial members shall be appointed in like manner for 3 year terms from the date of appointment, except in case of an appointment to fill a vacancy.
