- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The Authority shall make buildings of a civic center organized under this Code available for emergency purposes upon the request of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, a State-accredited emergency management agency with jurisdiction, or the American Red Cross. The Authority shall cooperate in all matters with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, local emergency management agencies, a State-accredited emergency management agency with jurisdiction, local public health departments, the American Red Cross, and federal agencies concerned with emergency preparedness and response.
