Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 70 ILCS 504/60

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Taxation prohibited. The Authority shall have no right or authority to levy any tax or special assessment, to pledge the credit of the State or any other subdivision or municipal corporation thereof, or to incur any obligation enforceable upon any property, either within or without the territory of the Authority.
