- Garnishment: Generally, garnishment is a court proceeding in which a creditor asks a court to order a third party who owes money to the debtor or otherwise holds assets belonging to the debtor to turn over to the creditor any of the debtor
Judgment against a garnishee shall be enforceable as in other civil cases and shall discharge the garnishee of all claims by the judgment debtor for the indebtedness or other property paid, delivered or accounted for by the garnishee by virtue of the judgment in garnishment. The discharge of a garnishee is no bar to an action by the judgment debtor for the same claim.
