Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 735 ILCS 5/15-1509.5

  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • Foreclosure: A legal process in which property that is collateral or security for a loan may be sold to help repay the loan when the loan is in default. Source: OCC
  • Mortgagee: The person to whom property is mortgaged and who has loaned the money.
  • shall: as used in this Article means mandatory and not permissive. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 735 ILCS 5/15-1105
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     Any deed executed pursuant to this Article or judgment vesting title by a consent foreclosure pursuant to Section 15-1402 shall state the grantee’s or mortgagee‘s name (and the name of a contact person), street and mailing addresses, and telephone number.
