A tribunal of this State may:
(1) request a tribunal outside this State to assist

in obtaining discovery; and

(2) upon request, compel a person over which it has
jurisdiction to respond to a discovery order issued by a tribunal outside this State.

Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 750 ILCS 22/318
- Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.
- State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
