Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 765 ILCS 110/1

  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • Grantor: The person who establishes a trust and places property into it.
  • Heretofore: means any time previous to the day on which the statute takes effect; and the word "hereafter" at any time after such day. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.17
  • State: when applied to different parts of the United States, may be construed to include the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" may be construed to include the said district and territories. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.14
     When any association heretofore organized under any law of this state providing for the incorporation of building, loan and homestead associations has gone into voluntary liquidation under any law of this state and there has heretofore been filed in the office of the Recorder of Deeds of the county in which such association was located the certificate of the Auditor of Public Accounts declaring such association to be in voluntary liquidation, every delivered deed of conveyance of real estate or interest in real estate in the name of such association as grantor heretofore executed, attested and acknowledged by the officers of its liquidating committee or by the officers of such association designated by the resolution of liquidation adopted at a meeting of its shareholders to execute or attest such deeds, is hereby validated and declared effective to have conveyed to the grantee therein all or so much of the title and interests of such association in and to the real estate described therein as such conveyance purported to convey, notwithstanding that such deed was not executed and acknowledged by all of its qualified liquidators. This Act is applicable only to building, loan and homestead associations which were fully liquidated on or before the effective date of this Act.
