Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 765 ILCS 505/5

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
     Whoever shall willfully trespass upon the land of another by mining thereon, shall, in addition to the damages now authorized by law, be liable to a penalty not to exceed $500, which may be recovered by the owner thereof, in the circuit court of the county where the land is situated.
