Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes 820 ILCS 112/27
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- individual: shall include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 5 ILCS 70/1.36
In addition to an individual who is deemed to be an employer pursuant to Section 5 of this Act, any officers of a corporation or agents of an employer who willfully and knowingly permit such employer to evade a final judgment or final award provided under this Act shall be deemed to be the employers of the employees.
