Terms Used In Illinois Compiled Statutes > 705 ILCS 24 - Judicial Circuits Districting Act of 2022

  • Buyer: means a person who buys or contracts to
    
buy goods. See Illinois Compiled Statutes 810 ILCS 5/2-103
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
