Sec. 26. (a) An organization for emergency management established under this chapter may not:
(2) be employed directly or indirectly for political purposes.

- emergency management: means the preparation for and the coordination of all emergency functions, other than functions for which military forces or other federal agencies are primarily responsible, to prevent, minimize, and repair injury and damage resulting from disasters. See Indiana Code 10-14-3-2
(b) Political qualifications may not be:
(1) a consideration for appointment to the agency; or
(2) a cause for dismissal;
except as provided in section 27 of this chapter. Full-time employees of the agency may not participate in political activities.
