Terms Used In Indiana Code 10-14-4-14
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- eligible entity: means a county, a city, a town, a township, or an individual who has incurred loss or cost because of a disaster. See Indiana Code 10-14-4-2
- Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
(b) The amount of loss that may be compensated for damages to an individual’s property:
(1) must be at least five hundred dollars ($500); and
(2) may not be more than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000).
(c) Only one (1) individual per residence is eligible for compensation under this section.
