  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
   Sec. 3.5. Before July 15, 2016, and before July 15 of each year thereafter, the department of local government finance shall provide to counties an estimate of the maximum allowable appropriation under section 1, 2, or 3 of this chapter (as applicable) for the ensuing year.
