- body: refers to an entity described in section 3 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 12-8-2.5-1
- member: refers to a member of a body. See Indiana Code 12-8-2.5-2
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
Sec. 7. Except as provided in another statute, the governor shall appoint a voting member of the body to be the presiding officer of the body.
