Terms Used In Indiana Code 16-35-1.5-4
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- food instrument: means an electronic benefit transfer card that can be taken to a WIC vendor for exchange for a specified quantity of food. See Indiana Code 16-35-1.5-1
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- WIC: refers to the women, infants, and children nutrition program. See Indiana Code 16-35-1.5-2
Sec. 4. As used in this chapter, “WIC vendor” means the individual, partnership, limited partnership, or corporation authorized by the state department to accept a food instrument and provide supplemental food to a WIC participant.
