Sec. 13. (a) Subject to subsection (b), during the period beginning July 1, 2018, and ending June 30, 2020, the distressed unit
appeal board may provide financial support to the Muncie Community school
corporation in an amount that does not exceed the amount of compensation that would have been provided to an emergency manager of the Muncie Community school corporation if the school corporation had retained the designation of a distressed political subdivision.

- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.

(c) Any financial assistance provided under subsection (a) shall be provided directly to the school corporation.
