Sec. 3.2. (a) For purposes of section 3 of this chapter, not later than the fourth week after the week an individual begins receiving
benefits, the individual must be scheduled to visit and receive an orientation to the services available through a one stop center (as defined by
IC 22-4.1-1-5). The individual must appear when scheduled, but in any event, the individual’s orientation must be completed not later than the sixth week after the week the individual begins receiving benefits.

- benefits: means the money payments payable to an eligible individual as provided in this article with respect to his unemployment. See Indiana Code 22-4-2-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
(b) The department may waive the requirements of subsection (a) only when one (1) of the following applies to an individual:
(1) The individual is attending training or retraining approved by the department.
(2) The individual is a job-attached worker with a specific recall date that is not more than sixty (60) days after the individual’s separation date.
(3) The individual is using:
(A) a hiring service;
(B) a referral service; or
(C) another job placement service as determined by the department.
(4) The individual is receiving a supplemental unemployment benefit under a contract or agreement.
