Terms Used In Indiana Code 23-0.5-1.5-43

  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
(2) a conveyance;

(3) a sale;

(4) a lease;

(5) an encumbrance, including a mortgage or security interest;

(6) a gift; and

(7) a transfer by operation of law.
