Sec. 8. The court may appoint:
(2) a court appointed special advocate; or
(1) a guardian ad litem;

- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
(3) both a guardian ad litem and a court appointed special advocate;
for a child in a proceeding under this chapter, as provided in IC 31-17-6-1.
