- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
Sec. 1.5. The juvenile court in the county of the original action has exclusive original jurisdiction over petitions to expunge records of a child alleged to be a delinquent child or a child in need of services.
