jury pay fund is established for each county to supplement the cost of paying jury fees. The jury pay fund is administered by the county auditor.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 33-37-11-2
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- jury pay fund: refers to the jury pay fund established under section 2 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 33-37-11-1
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
(b) The jury pay fund consists of amounts deposited by the county auditor under IC 33-37-8-5(c) and the fees collected under:
(1) IC 33-37-5-19 from a defendant who:
(A) committed a crime;
(B) violated a statute defining an infraction; or
(C) violated an ordinance of a municipal corporation; and
(2) IC 33-37-5-19.5 from a party who files:
(A) a civil tort action; or
(B) a civil plenary action.
