Terms Used In Indiana Code 34-31-11-4

  • Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
  • possessor of land: means a person who possesses any fee, reversionary, or easement interest in real property. See Indiana Code 34-31-11-1
(2) affect any immunities from or defenses to civil liability:

(A) established by another provision of the Indiana Code; or

(B) available at common law;

to which a possessor of land may be entitled.
