Terms Used In Indiana Code 36-1-3.5-10

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
     (b) Jurisdiction over the following local matter, which before the 1981 regular session of the general assembly has been the subject of statutory concern, is transferred to the executive of the county:
