Indiana Code 4-23-25.1-7. Indiana women’s suffrage centennial commission; duties
(1) Plan and develop activities that are appropriate to commemorate the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- commission: refers to the Indiana women's suffrage centennial commission established by section 5 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 4-23-25.1-2
- Legacy: A gift of property made by will.
- United States: includes the District of Columbia and the commonwealths, possessions, states in free association with the United States, and the territories. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
(A) state agencies (as defined in IC 4-13-1-1);
(B) units of local government; and
(C) private organizations within Indiana;
in coordinating, organizing, and participating in activities that commemorate the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
(3) Work to create a legacy that elevates the contributions of women and men with a connection to Indiana who were instrumental or otherwise played a role in the process of ratifying the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
(4) Commission the creation of a suitable monument to the people of Indiana active in the women’s suffrage movement and the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
