Sec. 8. (a) During the annual meeting required by section 6 of this chapter, the superintendent of a school corporation shall submit a written report to the local board of finance for the school corporation. The report must assess the financial condition of the school corporation using the fiscal and qualitative indicators determined under IC 20-19-7-4 by the distressed unit appeal board established by IC 6-1.1-20.3-4.

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
     (b) The local board of finance shall review the report made under subsection (a).

     (c) The superintendent of a school corporation may delegate the duty to submit a report under subsection (a) to an employee or representative of the school corporation.
