Sec. 2. (a) The state police department may inspect a vehicle subject to this chapter.

     (b) In the inspection, the department may determine the existence and condition of the following:

(1) The vehicle’s brakes.

(2) The vehicle’s lights as follows:

(A) Headlamps.

(B) Taillamps.

(C) Brake lights.

(D) Clearance lights.

(E) Turn signals.

(3) The vehicle’s steering and suspension.

(4) The vehicle’s exhaust systems.

(5) The vehicle’s body in general.

(6) The vehicle’s tires.
