Sec. 31. To facilitate the removal of abandoned vehicles or parts, a public agency may:

(1) employ personnel;

Terms Used In Indiana Code 9-22-1-31

  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • public agency: means a local or state agency given the responsibility by statute or ordinance for the removal, storage, and disposal of abandoned vehicles. See Indiana Code 9-22-1-3
(2) acquire equipment, property, and facilities; and

(3) enter into towing contracts;

for the removal, storage, and disposition of abandoned vehicles and parts. The fiscal body may, by ordinance, establish procedures to carry out this section.
