Sec. 10. (a) In addition to any other penalty imposed for a conviction under section 8(b) of this chapter, the court may recommend that the individual’s driving privileges be suspended for a fixed period of not more than two (2) years and the court may also order specialized driving privileges under IC 9-30-16.

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
     (b) The court shall specify:

(1) the length of the fixed period of suspension; and

(2) the date the fixed period of suspension begins;

whenever the court issues an order under subsection (a).
