- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Devise: To gift property by will.
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
- governing body: has the meaning set forth in IC 20-26-2-2. See Indiana Code 36-12-15-1
- Municipal corporation: means county, city, town, township, school corporation, library district, fire protection district, public transportation corporation, local hospital authority or corporation, local airport authority district, special service district, or other separate local governmental entity that may sue and be sued. See Indiana Code 5-10-9-1
- Property: includes personal and real property. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
- Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
