1. A person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty of a simple misdemeanor.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 100C.8
- Director: means the director of the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing or the director's designee. See Iowa Code 100C.1
- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
2. The director may impose a civil penalty of up to five hundred dollars on any person who violates any provision of this chapter for each day a violation continues. The director may adopt rules necessary to enforce and collect any penalties imposed pursuant to this chapter.
